Developing relationships with community members, organizations and businesses to establish a cohort to positively impact the lives of young people by providing collaborative programing and resources to support youth realize their value, gifts and ability to achieve their goals.
Our goal is to help young people mature mentally and spiritually, develop leadership skills and promote a healthy lifestyle. We hope every child will commit to a life of learning, identify and pursue their purpose, and maintain a strong family unit while giving back to their community.
Versatile” somehow doesn’t do justice in describing Lorenzo Alexander. This “One ManGang” has played offensive guard, tight end, linebacker, fullback, defensive tackle, defensive end, and special teams! He is an amazing example of determination, perseverance, and adaptability. Along with his “team-first”attitude, his willingness to contribute wherever needed has served him well in his 15-year NFL career earning Pro Bowl Honors twice and All Pro.
In high school, Lorenzo played football at St. Mary’s under his coach and uncle Steve Moore, who has had a profound impact on his life. From there, he moved to the University of California at Berkley where he start all 4 years and graduated.
Reared by his mother and influenced greatly by his Uncle Steve, Lorenzo learned to respect others, work hard and always believe in himself. Lorenzo has always had a passion for his family, friends, and the community in which he grew up. A man of character on and off the field, Lorenzo teaches those same traits to youth through his ACES Foundation.
Lorenzo understands his success is not his own and has used the NFL platform to provide resources to youth in Oakland, Washington D.C., Arizona and Buffalo. Throughout his career is has beee recognized as his team’s Walter Payton Man of the Year 5 times and received the Athletes in Action Call to Courage Award in 2017. Lorenzo and his wife, Manjanique, have four children and reside in Arizona.
Educated at the University of California, Riverside where he double majored in Public Policy and Religous Studies.
Akeem is a founding board member and board chair of The Lorenzo Alexander ACES foundation, a New Leaders Council Fellow, Programs Director at The Hidden Genius Project, and a brand compliance/intellectual property consultant at Corporate.ly
His passion is embedded in the intersections of technology, business, civic responsibility, law & policy, and empowering underrepresented youth with confidence and a skill set to build technical solutions to solve problems specific to their own communities.
As a result of his own personal experiences growing up and navigating through underrepresented communities, Akeem’s ministry is known to be unrelenting and unapologetic with respect to creating access and opportunities for historically underserved demographics.
Stephanie is a former business owner; directed a childcare program for 7 years. She is currently working with children and the elderly. Stephanie is the proud mother of Lorenzo Alexander.
She is a Native of Oakland, California.
Spencer Moore, born and raised in Oakland, Ca., and went to Saint Mary’s high school. Before graduating in 2014, she was apart of the record setting sprint medley team, top 5 NCS time in cross country history, as well as a 4x top 10 finisher at CIF Championships in Cross Country. She then went on to attend the University of Nevada Las Vegas where she earned a bachelors in Communication Studies and ran cross country & track. Prior to her finishing in 2018, she was apart of 3 DMR record setting teams, ran the top 5 times in school history from the 1500, 3k, 5k, and 6k, as well as apart of the winning Mountain West Indoor Championship team in 2018. She is currently pursuing an MBA with an emphasis in marketing from the University of Holy Names where she is a Graduate Assistant for the cross country and track program.
In her free time, she is a coach at 3M Track Club in Oakland, Ca. She started in 2014 and truly enjoys giving back to her community in one of the best ways she knows how. She also volunteers her time at Saint Mary’s College High School to talk with the cross country team and share her experience being an high school athlete and transitioning into collegiate competition.
An Oakland native, Brandon Nicholson is founding Executive Director of The Hidden Genius Project. He has dedicated his life to promoting equity in the public realm, particularly in the education space. In his previous stint as a senior evaluator and consultant, Brandon conducted research,
evaluation, and consulted on a range of projects related to intersections of education policy and workforce and economic development.
It was there that he began to recognize the potential for technology to bolster the domestic and global economy as underrepresented populations gain more equitable access to growth sectors. Brandon has conducted substantial research in the areas of education and youth development, with a particular focus on issues of equity and access in K-12 education for underserved populations.
He has considerable experience investigating linkages among race, class, and youth development.
Omar Young joined the Carolina football staff in February 2016 as an analyst. Prior to his arrival in Columbia, Young served as an offensive intern assisting with the running backs for the Cleveland Browns in 2015.
Young has previous experience at the Division I level working on Mike MacIntyre’s staff, first at San Jose State from 2011-12, then at Colorado from 2013-14. As a graduate assistant at SJSU, Young worked with the special teams in addition to handling the Spartans’ quality control duties, assisted in a variety of other areas such as recruiting, game plans and scouting reports, and coached in SJSU’s 29-20 win over Bowling Green in the Military Bowl.
When MacIntyre accepted the head coaching position at Colorado, he created CU’s first-ever quality control position and brought in Young to fill the role as director of quality control for the defense and special teams. Young also coordinated special projects for the head coach.
Prior to joining MacIntyre’s staff at SJSU, Young gained experience at both the Division II and junior college level. In 2010 he served as the secondary coach and special teams coordinator at Minnesota State Moorhead University and in 2009 he was the receivers coach at De Anza (Calif.) College.
Young gained scouting experience from 2008-2007 while working as an intern in the player personnel departments for the Oakland Raiders (NFL) and San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League.
While completing his undergraduate degree at Savannah State University, he worked as a student assistant and video coordinator for the football program, essentially starting his coaching career path in 2004. Young first attended Willamette University in Salem, Ore., where played two years as
a defensive back. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history from Savannah State University in 2005, and earned his master’s in sport management from the University of San Francisco in 2008.
